It's YOU! Hello! Nice to see you! Here you will find stuff about living a creative life in country Australia. I create with watercolour, pen, collage, mixed media and photos. I teach, hosts workshops, collect, dream. I love cheese, travel, my garden, faffing, colour and whimsy. I am crap at time management, and do way too many things, but it is all good. Oh yes, all pictures and photos on here by me too, just saying.

Wanting...sigh......

WANTING...sigh...
went to work. wondered why. why can't it always be painting, making, creating, messing about.
sigh.....
want to run through fields of lushness, breathe in the chill of autumn days, be reverant in museums, lie in the sun with my face pointed towards it like a sunflower soaking up all the warmth,
want a never-ending supply of large watercolour paper, fine sable brushes, light flooding into a pristine white studio, covered in un-pristine paint and pictures.
sigh....
okay, will settle for a red mini-cooper,
(with white stripes or two-tone detailing)...if i have to.
{Or maybe even a sleep in.}

LOVE COLOUR LOVE

COLOUR LOVE COLOUR
OOOH BABY. CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS STUFF.TRY AS I MIGHT TO BE SIMPLE, SOPHISTICATED, MINIMALIST AND NEUTRAL IN MY PALETTES, IT JUST DOES NOT GET THE JUICES GOING. DOESN'T MEAN I DO NOT ADMIRE AND SEE THE BEAUTY IN ALL THOSE NATURAL EARTHY KINDA TONES.
MAYBE I AM JUST NOT THAT GROWN UP ... MATURE IN MY PALETTE YET?

so what are you....bright, bold, smudgy and sludgy, dirty and subdued, rich and lush, pale and serene?
what makes your blood sing in your ears?

cloud on my plate

 cloud on my plate
Having lunch, cutting crusty bread. A slice of. It is just the right shape ... of a cloud. My brain goes all fizzy, and I scramble for something white, AHA! coconut, and look there, sunflower kernels, ready for snacking, but very handily doubling as big fat raindrops.OOOOH...my favourite blue plate...pefecto! And so, Mummy gets in trouble for playing with her food.
But it made a nice picture.

 corrugated
eye candy and the killing of zombies
I live in the country.
I am a townie though.
I am a 'blow in'.
Farms still hold that mystique and magic, rough and elemental.

Over time, my eye has come to seek out the rusted, the new, the forgotten, the left behind and discarded. My eye sees the  little vignettes of loveliness, and now, with my trusty phone/camera at my side, I am free to snap away...and I do!
These snaps were taken  when I was dropping off my son for a playdate at a mates place. I was being watched continuously by the working dogs, caged up and suspiciously curious about the human stranger stomping about the yards and sheds. They strained to see my every move.My son's friend wondered what the hell I was doing, what could I possibly find interesting in all that stuff?
My son, used to such shenanigans , just shrugged, and suggested they go and start killing zombies, inside where it was warm.
